Departures from Varna Airport: drop-off and parking

Departures leave from Terminal 2, and the parking decision splits in two: a two-minute stop at the door, or a car left standing for a week. The rules and the money are different in each case, so this page keeps them apart.

Check your flight and terminal officially

This is an independent parking guide, not a flight board: we publish no departure times, because a cached time reads as fact and stops being one within minutes. The schedule and any change to it are published by the airport operator, Fraport Bulgaria, on varna-airport.bg, and check-in and gate closing times come from the airline — they differ by carrier and by route, and no third party can state them for you.

What we can be precise about is the ground: how long the free stop at the barrier lasts, and what a week or a month of parking actually costs.

Dropping someone at the door

Car Park 1 (490 spaces) and Car Park 2 (194) sit directly in front of Terminal 2, open-air, under CCTV and staffed around the clock. A drop-off uses the same free window as a pick-up: 10 minutes from the moment the ticket is issued, 5 more if you validate the ticket at a machine before they run out, and up to 40 minutes with a disabled badge.

The free 10 minutes are limited to twice within 24 hours for the same vehicle. For a straightforward drop-off that is ample — the window is long enough to unload a boot and see someone to the door, and short enough that it does not pay to wait for the aircraft to leave.

Leaving the car for a week or a month

On the official tariff in force from 13 July 2026, up to 24 hours in the Standard car park costs €24, and every day after the first two adds €3 — so seven days come to €43 and a month works out at roughly €112. The off-site lots undercut that on longer stays: V Park asks €37 for seven days and €75 for a month, PARK PLACE €38 and €70, East Rent €40 and €70 for an outdoor space.

The trade is time, not just money. The official car parks need no shuttle at all — you are already at the terminal. V Park and PARK PLACE include the shuttle between 08:00 and 20:00 and charge €5 per direction outside those hours, while East Rent includes it around the clock. For one or two days the official car park is usually the simpler choice; for a week or more the difference is worth the shuttle ride.

Before you drive away

Keep the ticket with you rather than in the car: a lost ticket costs a minimum of €15 / 29.34 BGN. Payment is by one of the four machines on site, in the URBO app or at the exit booth, and the parking office answers at [email protected]. The full official price list is published on varna-airport.bg, and our own comparison of the long-stay options sits on the long-term parking page.
